Reference blocks are used by different industries with the aim of enabling design & qualification of inspection procedures, operators´ homologation and training of staff for NDT.

ITMA Materials Technology has developed a dossier compiling all the designs in which it has been working for different customers during the recent years, in order to offer a personalised & professional service of application to several sectors.

Our capabilities cover the whole cycle of manufacturing of such reference blocks, from the design phase till machining, dimensional control and thermal treatments. We can induce realistic defects, in a wide variety of geometries and alloys, through different technical means.

Materials used for the works developed by ITMA include structural steels, high temperature and pressure, corrosion resistant, wear resistant, cryogenic steels, steels for nuclear industry, armour steels, foundries or alloys for aeronautics.
